The SCAD Savannah Men's Lacrosse team took control early and ended up with a 22-1 victory over the University of North Florida in Jacksonville in a Southeast Region matchup.
The Bees, who are ranked No. 1 in the SELC Coaches Poll, and No. 8 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse MCLA Poll won their first game of the season and are 1-0 in the five-team Southeast Division.
SCAD took control of the match early and they never let up.
Jordy McManus scored six goals for the Bees, while
Derek Shurson and
Trey McKay scored five and four respectively. Six other Bees contributed to the scoring extravaganza. Senior Goalie
Wade Winebrenner recorded ten saves and gave up only one goal in the win for the Bees.
SCAD returns to action at 7 p.m. Saturday (2/18) with a contest against Clemson University at the SCAD Sports Complex.
