No. RV Men’s Lacrosse Ends Regular Season with Win on Senior Day

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The SCAD men's lacrosse team finished the regular season with an 11-8 win over Montreat College on Senior Day.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 5-9, 3-5 AAC, while the Cavaliers finish the season 0-13, 0-8 AAC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: SCAD jumped to a quick 1-0 lead when Lucas Martinez won the face off and then scored nine seconds into the game. Michael Mowers made it a 2-0 lead with a goal at the 12:43 mark. Montreat got on the board a minute later to make it a 2-1 game.
 
Theron Turnbull scored with just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter to go up 3-1. The Cavaliers scored once more in the quarter to bring the score to 3-2 in favor of the Bees heading into the second quarter.
 
SCAD opened the second quarter with four goals – Mason Hickman, Noah Moreland, Theron Turnbull (Evan Baker), and Michael Mowers (Sebastian Manuel) – to go up 7-2 with just over nine minutes remaining in the half. Montreat finished the quarter with two goals to SCAD's one as the Bees went into halftime with an 8-4 lead.
 
The Cavaliers made it a one-goal game, scoring the only three goals in the third quarter to bring the score to 8-7 in favor of the Bees.
 
Noah Moreland, off an assist from Sebastian Manuel, opened the scoring in the final quarter to give SCAD a 9-7 lead. Montreat answered with their last goal of the game at the 6:50 mark (9-8). Manuel scored back-to-back goals to end the game 11-8.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Sebastian Manuel had a game-high four points with two goals and two assists. Michael Mowers totaled three goals while Theron Turnbull and Noah Moreland added two. Lucas Martinez and Mason Hickman tallied one goal each.
 
Martinez led the team in ground balls with six, while goalie Noah Miller totaled four to go along with his 20 saves. Noah Rivaz had a game-high two caused turnovers.
 
SENIOR DAY: At halftime, the five graduating members of the men's lacrosse team were honored: Aidan Heuer, Luca Colafella, Javin Shackleford, Evan Baker, and Theron Turnbull.
