Sports Medicine
The Savannah College of Art & Design's Sports Medicine Department includes 3 full time Certified Athletic Trainers and a Team Physician from Chatham Orthopaedic Associates.
Certified Athletic Trainers are health care professionals who specialize in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses that occur to athletes. Athletic Training certification is granted by the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC). The Athletic Trainers at SCAD are BOC certified and licensed in both Georgia and South Carolina.
It is our mission to provide the student-artist-athletes at SCAD with the best health care possible, both physically and mentally. Services provided include all home and some away competition coverage, practice coverage, injury prevention, assessment, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation. We strive to return our student-artist-athletes to full participation within their art and their sport as quickly and safely as possible.
Athletic training services are provided in Room G038 at Turner House - 302 W. Boundary Street, Savannah, GA 31401 Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 12 PM. Our summer hours will vary.
