Karl Sjöström graduated in 2012 with a degree in Industrial Design and was a member of the men's soccer team. We checked in on what he's been doing since his time at SCAD, and the continued collaboration he's had with his fellow Bees! 

What have you done after graduation? 

So much! I'm a product and footwear designer with a passion for craftsmanship, storytelling, and purposeful design. I've led creative direction and collection/product development for brands like Scotch & Soda and Napapijri, turning ideas into authentic, well-made products that resonate through thoughtful details and function. 

What is one of your proudest professional accomplishments? 

I founded Goodluck Golf Manufacturing Co., where I built a new golf brand from the ground up together with fellow SCAD Bees — developing the concept, product line, and brand identity, and overseeing everything from design to market launch. 

What is your favorite memory or moment from your time at SCAD Athletics? 

Going to Argentina with the team. 

What is one life or career lesson you've learned through your sports career at SCAD? 

Be efficient with you time and move with purpose. More time doesn't always mean a better end result. 

What surprised you the most about your time o the Men's Soccer Team? 

That an art program can attract that many high caliber artist-athletes across such a wide span of sports. That is unique, and something any artist-athlete should more pride in. 

What is your advice to the new members of the SCAD Bees community? 

Be dedicated. It will be some of the toughest times you've ever experienced, it will also be the most rewarding and fulfilling if you are fully dedicated to your work 

What is your advice to the current members of the SCAD Bees community? 

Collaborate and explore outside your major, try maximizing your creativity. At SCAD you can make almost any idea or dream a reality.
