TOPEKA, Kan. – The SCAD men's bowling team competed at the NAIA BCA Invite I and II on Friday-Sunday and were named the overall Champions at the NAIA BCA Invite II on Sunday.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The NAIA BCA Invite I consisted of five individual team games on Friday. The NAIA BCA Invite II took place on Saturday and Sunday, with day one featuring 25 baker games, and the total pinfall from Friday and Saturday determined the seeding. The top eight teams moved on to the best-of-seven match play on Sunday.
NAIA BCA INVITE I: The Bees finished in fourth place at the NAIA BCA Invite I with a total pinfall of 4978.
Aidan Furukawa was SCAD's top finisher on day one with a five-game total pinfall of 1042 for an average of 208.4.
NAIA BCA INVITE II: Day two saw the Bees bowl 25 baker games for a total pinfall of 4867, combined with day one's total pinfall of 4978, SCAD finished in fifth place overall to advance to match-play.
No. 5 SCAD faced the seventh-seeded Missouri Baptist team in the first round of match play and won 4-3.
Round two featured No. 5 SCAD versus No. 10 Baker. The Bees won 4-1 to advance to the final.
The No. 5 Bees faced No. 8 Ottawa in the final round and won 4-2 to be named the overall champion.
