Men’s Bowling Opens Season at Tier 1 Midwest Collegiate Classic

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The SCAD men's bowling team opened the season at the Tier 1 Midwest Collegiate Classic, advancing to match play.
 
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day tournament consisted of five individual games on day one, followed by 16 baker games and match play on day two. The total pinfall from the individual games and baker games determined the qualifying standings, with the top eight teams competing in match play.
 
INDIVIDUAL GAMES: On the first day, Griffin Jordan was the only Bee to bowl all five individual games, compiling a total pinfall of 1031 for an average of 206, placing him in 34th in the field of 400.
 
Christian Liquori and Landin Jordan bowled four games each. Liquori had a total pinfall of 912 for an average of 228, placing 117th overall, while L. Jordan had a total pinfall of 780, averaging 195, which placed him 147th.
 
The Bees had a total pinfall of 4942 at the end of day one.
 
BAKER GAMES: The beginning of day two saw SCAD bowl 16 baker games, finishing with a total pinfall of 3284. The individual games and the baker games combined for a total pinfall of 8226, placing them eighth heading into match play.
 
MATCH PLAY: The Bees faced the number one-seeded Purdue University in the first round of match play. SCAD fell 2-1 (171-228, 200-194, 227-184), finishing the tournament fifth-eighth in the field of 51.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will remain on the road to compete at the Tier 2 Mid South Tournament in Smyrna, Tenn., on October 25.
