Bowling Sweeps SCAD Collegiate Shootout presented by Sunstates Security

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The SCAD Savannah men's and women's bowling teams hosted the SCAD Shootout on Saturday and Sunday, and both programs ended the weekend with a win.
 
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day tournament consisted of five individual games on Saturday and 12 baker games on Sunday. Total pinfall determined seeding, with the top four teams advancing to the best-of-five match play to determine the winner.
 
MEN'S RESULTS: Kai Evans won the Individual Title with a five-game average of 215, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. The Bees were in second place at the conclusion of the individual games.
 
SCAD had a total pinfall of 2377 after 12 baker games for a combined total pinfall of 7205, placing them second heading into match play.
 
The No. 2 Bees faced No. 3 SCAD Atlanta and won 233-190, 205-166, and 236-187 to advance to the final. SCAD faced No. 1 Webber International University and won 236-158, 172-209, 221-205, and 213-199.
 
WOMEN'S RESULTS: At the conclusion of the five individual games, the Bees were in first place. Addy Nelson won the Individual Title with an average of 182.4.
 
SCAD added 2107 pins from the baker games for a total of 6441, placing them first heading into match play.
 
The No. 1 SCAD Savannah team faced No. 4 University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa and won 177-127, 171-132, and 187-169 to advance to the final. The Bees faced No. 2 SCAD Atlanta in the last round and won 199-170, 175-188, 150-164, 201-197, and 164-159.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will compete at the NAIA I and II on November 22-24 in Louisville, Ky.
