CHARLESTON, S.C. – The SCAD men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2025 season at the NCAA DI Charleston Southern Buccaneer Open on Friday.
The No. 8 women's cross country team finished second in the field of five, while the No. RV men's team finished in third in the field of five.
WOMEN'S RESULTS: The women totaled 39 points to take second behind NCAA DI Charleston Southern, who totaled 22 points. The Bees finished ahead of NCAA DI The Citadel and S.C. State, along with NAIA Columbia (S.C.).
Talia Sullivan was SCAD's top finisher in the 5K, placing third in the field of 38 runners with a time of 17:58.9.
Edith Manfred finished in fifth with a time of 18:05.9, while
Calpurnia Durnin finished ninth with a time of 19:38.1 in her first race as a Bee.

MEN'S RESULTS: The men's team finished in third with 87 points, while NCAA DI Charleston Southern won with a perfect 15 points, and NCAA DI The Citadel, which finished in second with 56 points.
Max Heins was SCAD's top finisher with a time of 20:01.6 for ninth place in the field of 52.
