WAUWATOSA, Wisc. – The SCAD men's and women's bowling teams competed in the first Tier 1 of the season at the Midwest Collegiate Classic, qualifying first and second to advance to match play.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day tournament format consisted of five team games followed by 16 baker games to determine seeding for match play. The top eight teams advanced to best-of-three games match play.
MEN'S RESULTS: At the conclusion of Saturday's team games, the Bees were sitting in seventh with a total pinfall of 5261.
Averaging 233 in the baker games, the Bees qualified as the No. 1 seed with a total pinfall of 8846. The Bees faced No. 8 Oklahoma Christian and lost 190-184, 192-237, 195, 245.
WOMEN'S RESULTS: At the conclusion of the five team games, the Bees were in third with a total pinfall of 4916. After 16 baker games, SCAD moved up one spot to qualify for match play as the No. 2 team with a total pinfall of 7974.
The Bees faced No. 7 Saint Xavier in the opening round of match play and lost 173-226, 157-212.
WHAT'S NEXT? SCAD will travel to Wichita, Kan., for the Tier 1 MidStates Collegiate on October 19-20.
