No. 14 SCAD Women’s Soccer Stings the Knights

Box Score HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 14 SCAD women's soccer team remains undefeated at home with a win of 4-0 against No. RV Middle Georgia State University on Friday night.
 
RECORDS
  • The Bees are now 7-1-0.
  • The Knights fall to 3-3-1.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SCAD's defense held Middle Georgia State to only 10 shots and no goals.
  • The Bees took a 1-0 lead at the 23-minute mark when Sydney Chura (Milford, Mich. / Fibers) found the back of the net off an assist from Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television).
  • Ten minutes later, Chura scored her second goal off a double assist when the ball came from Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) who got it from Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture).
  • Siddall scored a quick goal going into the second half at the 46-minute mark.
  • The last goal was a header from Jule Stendebach (Kelkheim, Hessen, Germany / Undeclared) when she was able to jump above a defender and score off Baldursdottir's corner kick giving SCAD the 4-0 win.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Chura led the offense with two goals on six shots followed by Siddall who had one goal on five shots with one assist.
  • Stendebach had one goal on one shot while Baldursdottir had two assists and three shots.  
  • Emily Miller (Apex, N.C. / Advertising and Branding) had two shots while Mia Nelson (Omaha, Neb. / Animation) and Lane Lieberman (Chevy Chase, Md. / Visual Communication) both had one shot.
  • Sommer had one assist.
  • Goalie Zoe Goodale (Coppell, Texas / Undeclared) had six saves during her time in the net.

  • The Bees go on the road on Thursday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. to play Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Ga.
