SAVANNAH, Ga.- Bees Women's Soccer head coach
Rebecca Gunn is please to announce the signing of Amelie Waine for the fall of 2026
Waine is a crafty midfielder hailing from St. Helens, England. She is coming to Savannah from Rainford High School where she earned the Connor Coady Sports Ward and was awarded a sports tie. Waine plays club soccer for Stoke City. She has also played for the Blackvurn Rovers where she had her senior debut in the WSL Cup. Waine spent five seasons with the Liverpool FC Academy where she was the captain for the 14u team. A very decorated athlete, she was a member of two National Championship teams with Knowsley St. Helens District. Waine also was part of the England Talent Pathway and represented Merseyside for three seasons.
"Amelie is a versatile midfielder who brings both intelligence and technical quality to the game," said coach Gunn. "She's a direct player with great strength in breaking out from the back, using quick one or two touch passing to drive the play forward. Her exceptional technical ability is matched by her sharp awareness and decision-making on the field. Having competed at a high level in England, Amelie will be an excellent fit here at SCAD."
At SCAD, Waine has decided to pursue a degree in Film and Television. She is supported by her parents Rick and Amy Waine as well as her siblings Isla and Finn.
When asked why she chose SCAD Waine said, "It felt a perfect place where I could develop creatively whilst continuing to develop in the sport that I love. I also loved the look of the city of Savannah and see it as a place I will love to spend my time."
