No. 11 SCAD Women’s Soccer Dominates Florida Memorial at Home

Box Score HARDEEVILLE, S.C.  – The SCAD women's soccer team defeated Florida Memorial University 11-0 on Saturday afternoon.
 
RECORDS
  • The Bees are now 9-1-1, 1-0-1 SUN.
  • The Lions are now 0-4-0, 0-3-0 SUN.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SCAD's defense held Florida Memorial to only one shot and zero goals.
  • The Bees first goal came early at the two-minute mark from Mia Gomez (Austin, Texas / Graphic Design & Advertising and Branding) assisted by Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture).
  • The second goal of the game came much later at 32 minutes from Filippa Bjare (Saltsjobaden, Stockholm, Sweden / Architecture) assisted by Baldursdottir followed by a goal from Alyssa Smith (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) assisted by Emmie Dezoort (Forsyth, Ga. / Painting) to round out the first half.
  • With a 3-0 lead, SCAD's fourth goal was scored at the 51st minute mark from Dezoort.
  • Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) assisted by Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television), Smith assisted by Jasey Beaver (Broomfield, Colo. / Luxury and Fashion Management), and again Sommer assisted by Sophia Valentin (Long Beach, N.Y. / Illustration) were able to get the Bees to 7-0 going into the last 30 minutes of the game.
  • Siddall scored followed quickly by Ella Augustsson (Loddekopinge, Sweden / Social Strategy and Management) with an assist from Gabrielle Slye (Charleston, S.C. / Interior Design) at the 76th minute mark.
  • To wrap up the game, Siddall scored another goal assisted by Smith followed by one last goal from Phoebe Peters (London, United Kingdom / Advertising and Branding) to conclude the game at 11-0.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Smith led the offense with two goals on three shots and one assist followed by Siddall with two goals on eight shots and one assist.
  • Sommer had two goals on four shots.
  • Dezoort totaled one goal on two shots and had one assist while Augustsson and Peters both had one goal on two shots.
  • Gomez had one goal on five shots and Bjare had one goal on one shot.
  • Baldursdottir led in assists (2) and had eight shots.
  • Beaver, Valentin and Slye ended the game with one assist and one shot.
  • Lexi Kaiafas (Wall, N.J. / Fashion) totaled eight shots.
  • Lane Lieberman (Chevy Chase, Md. / Visual Communications) and Julia Rauch (Offenburg, Germany / Architecture) had two shots each.
