No. 12 SCAD Women’s Soccer Blanks Warner University

Box Score HARDEEVILLE, S.C.  – The No. 12 SCAD women's soccer team defeated Warner University 5-0 at home on Saturday afternoon.
 
RECORDS
  • The Bees are now 10-1-1, 2-0-1 SUN.
  • The Royals are now 3-4-3, 2-3-1 SUN.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SCAD's defense held Warner to only one shot during the whole 90-minutes.
  • An early goal not even a minute in by the Bee's Ines Sommer (Lisbon, Portugal / Film and Television) assisted by Alyssa Smith (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Advertising and Branding) start off with a led 1-0.
  • SCAD's second point came from Berglind Baldursdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland / Architecture) from Lane Liberman (Chevy Chase, Md. / Visual Communication) and Sommer.
  • Baldursdottir was able to score a second goal off an assist from Sommer to give the Bees a 3-0 lead.
  • The last goal for the SCAD in the first quarter came from Mia Gomez (Austin, Texas / Graphic Design & Advertising and Branding) who was assisted by Baldursdottir and Abigail Siddall (Plymouth, Mich. / Film and Television).
  • The last goal came from Gomez assisted by Gabrielle Slye (Charleston, S.C. / Interior Design) at the 80-minute mark giving Bees the 5-0 win.

  • Baldursdottir lead the offense in stats with two goals on seven shots and one assist.
  • Gomez was able to score two goals on three shots while Sommer scored one goal on five shots with two assists.
  • Smith and Slye had one assist and one shot each.
  • Siddall had one assist and seven shots and Lieberman had one assist and two shots.
  • Emily Miller (Apex, N.C. / Advertising and Branding), Ida Akesson (Loddekopinge, Sweden / Graphic Design), Filippa Bjare (Saltsjobaden, Stockholm, Sweden / Architecture), Lexi Kaiafas (Wall, N.J. / Fashion), and Emilee Roseland (Andover, Minn / Interior Design & Architecture) had one shot each.

  • The Bees will travel to Ave Maria, Fla. on Monday, October 17th to compete against Ave Maria University at 11:00 a.m.
