"I'm really excited for Ines to compete this fall" states head coach Gunn. "She is a talented attacking player with experience playing at a highly competitive level in Portugal. She is a technical player, who loves to dribble to take players on. I am anticipating a great season from her."
From Lisbon, Portugal, forward Ines Sommer attended high school at Externato Marista de Lisboa. Sommer made the Honor Roll every year, and was a Junior European Parliament Ambassador in her last year.

Ines is supported off the field by her parents Ana and Ruben Sommer and her brother Tomas.
When asked why she chose SCAD, Ines said:
"I chose SCAD because I think it is the perfect place for me to learn and to start pursuing a career in film and television, while also playing the sport I love. Coach Gunn was always available to help me through everything, which made the decision easier. I'm really excited to meet my teammates, to start playing soccer in a country like the USA and I can't wait to be immersed in the creative environment at SCAD!"
