3/10/2020 2:36:00 PM

Savannah G.A. – Following a successful season, Head Coach Rebecca Gunn and Assistant Coach Sinead Byrne are excited to now welcome the 2020 recruiting class. Nina Otto is a part of the talented group set to arrive in Savannah next fall.

"Nina has been playing at a high level which will help make her transition to the collegiate game an easy one" states Head Coach Rebecca Gunn.  "She is capable of getting in behind defenses and can whip a ball in from the flank.  We expect her to create several scoring opportunities in our attack. We are excited to have her as a SCAD bee."

From McLean, Va., Forward Nina Otto has played for McLean High School along with club teams McLean ECNL (2019-20) and Washington Spirit (2017-19). As a four-year varsity player, Otto was named the Most Improved Player as a freshman and qualified, and competed in, the Development Academy National Championship Tournament. With HP Elite Select Team, Otto traveled to Italy and were the San Marino Cup Champions and with McLean ECNL U18/19 helped contribute to an undefeated season.

Otto is supported off the pitch by her parents John and Naomi along with older brother Griffin.

When asked why she chose SCAD, Otto said:

"SCAD offers a great opportunity to study art & design in a creative environment while continuing to play soccer at a competitive level. I really enjoyed visiting Savannah and the time I spent meeting the coaches and team. SCAD felt like the perfect fit for me. I'm excited to meet my teammates from all over the country, and the world, and build new friendships with others who share my passion for soccer and art."

Otto is part of SCAD's 12-member 2020 recruiting class. SCAD Women's Soccer is set to release details on all 12 of the newest SCAD Bees in the coming weeks.
