Women’s Soccer Drops First TSC Game

Box Score QUICK STORY: A tough second half leads to the first Sun Conference loss for the SCAD Savannah women's soccer team. The Bees lost 3-1 to the Night Hawks of Thomas University Wednesday night.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 7-3-1, 2-1 TSC while the Night Hawks improve to 4-3-1, 1-1 TSC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Despite holding Thomas to only two shots in the first half it was not enough as the Night Hawks scored three goals to the Bees' one in the second half.
 
The Night Hawks scored the first two goals in the 54th and 67th minutes. SCAD answered with a goal from Sam Manelis on an assist from Nikki Abel at the 71:44 mark.
 
Unfortunately, Thomas scored their third goal six minutes later and SCAD was not able to get another shot off.
 
BOX SCORE: The Bees took 15 shots to the Night Hawks' 14 with seven on goal to Thomas' six.
 
Manelis was one for one in shots, scoring the Bees' only goal of the game.
 
Mikaela Heyboer led the Bees in shots with three while Nikki Abel, Alyssa Rodemsky and Emily Cook took two each. Six other players contributed one shot a piece.
 
Goalie Lauren Kittle nabbed three saves in her 90 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to Keiser University on Saturday, September 30 for a 3:00 p.m. TSC match-up.
