Box Score QUICK HIT: The SCAD Savannah women's soccer team opened The Sun Conference (TSC) action with a 4-2 win at Warner University Wednesday afternoon.
RECORDS: The Bees are now 6-2-1 (1-0 TSC) while the Royals are now 1-2 (0-1).
HOW IT HAPPENED: When Bees' substitutes
Sam Manelis and
Hope Kemp-Hanson stepped on the field the game changed. The two combined for the first goal when Kemp-Hanson played a low pass through for Manelis to run onto. Manelis dribbled and beat the keeper with a low shot.
The second goal came when
Julia Corin played a ball over the top that Manelis chased down and dribbled at the Warner goalkeeper again shot past her.
Forty seconds later,
Savannah Raines dribbled down the line and put a cross in to Kemp-Hanson to finish first time.
Kemp-Hanson ended the game with the final goal when she peeled off her defender and cam across the ball about 25 yards out. On her second touch she put it over the keeper into the back net.
DID YOU KNOW? This is the fourth year in-a-row in which the Bees have opened conference play with a win.
BOX SCORE: The Bees totaled 18 shots to the Royals' seven, with 12 on goal.
Manelis and Kemp-Hanson were both two for two with shots and goals.
Mikaela Heyboer led the team in shots with five (three on goal) while
Nikki Abel totaled four shots and
Annie Sullivan tallied two.
Riley Shelton,
Emily Cook, and Raines rounded out the shooting with one shot a piece.

Natalia McElrath and
Lauren Kittle shared time in the cage with McElrath nabbing four saves.
