Women’s Soccer Hands Asbury First Loss of Season

Box Score QUICK HIT: The SCAD Savannah women's soccer team handed Asbury University its first loss of the season Monday afternoon as the Bees won 7-1 at home.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 3-0-1 while the Eagles are now 2-1.
 
OFFENSE GALORE: Asbury scored the first goal of the game three minutes in but it turned out to be its only goal.
 
Nikki Abel scored the first goal for the Bees to tie the game at the 20:33 minute mark.
 
Hope Kemp-Hanson scored what turned out to be the game winner just over 14 minutes later on a penalty kick.
 
Mikaela Heyboer scored two goals in the second half while Maddy Lambert, Darcy Aders and Hannah Amidon scored one goal each.
 
Kemp-Hanson, Abel, Savannah Raines and Annie Sullivan tallied one assist each.
 
WHAT ABOUT THE DEFENSE? The Bees' defense limited the Eagles to only seven shots on goal and three corner kicks.
 
Goalies Lauren Kittle and Natalia McElrath split time in the goal with McElrath picking up five saves and Kittle one.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? SCAD will remain at home to host Georgetown College on Friday, September 1 at 6:30 p.m.
