Box Score

Hardeeville, South Carolina – SCAD and Brenau was an evenly matched game throughout but Brenau goal in the 35th minute was enough to give the Tigers the 1-0 win, Saturday afternoon at the SCAD Athletic Complex. With the win the Tigers improve to 2-0, while the Bees fall to 1-5.

Brenau started the game strong taking five out of the first six shots, but Ande Eich made two saves to keep the game scoreless midway through the first half. The game remained that way until the 35th minute when Jensen Meaux's shot went into the goal to give Brenau a 1-0 advantage. The Bees tried to even the score but all three shots were off frame giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead at the break.

The second half began just the opposite of the first with the Bees taking the first five shots, but three saves by Anela Melton kept the game 1-0. It looked like SCAD was going to even the score in the 55th minute, but Meghan Grable's free kick clinked off the crossbar. The Bees got one more opportunity in the 86th minute as Carmen Cambiaso was on a fast break but Melton made the save to secure the 1-0 final.

Eich finished the game with five saves, while five different SCAD players recorded at least two shots.

The Bees will return to the pitch Monday, September 5, when they host Faulkner at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available here.
