Bees Tame Lions to Remain Undefeated in Conference Play

Miramar, Florida – The SCAD women's soccer held Florida Memorial to one shot, while the Bees netted a goal in half to defeated the Lions 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Vizcaya Park. With the win the Bees improve to 5-3-2 and 2-0 in The Sun Conference, while the Lions drop to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

SCAD dominated right from the start of the game shooting early and often. The game remained scoreless until the 32nd minute when Meghan Grable pushed the ball forward to Alyssa Rodemsky, who crossed it to Reese Stevens for the goal to give the Bees a 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 at the break.

The Bees attack continued in the second half outshooting the Lions 19-1. In the 61st minute Julia Mangione connected with Laerke Michaelsen for a goal to extend SCAD's lead to 2-0. The Bees had several chance to extend the lead but Ann Marie Rodriguez made five second half saves for the 2-0 final.

Sara Hall and Ande Eich combined for one save in their third straight shutout.

The Bees outshot the Lions 26-1 for the game.

SCAD return to action Thursday, October 1, when they host conference foe Warner. Game time is set for 5 p.m. at the SCAD Athletic Complex. Livestats for that game will be available here.
