Lawrenceville, Georgia – Alyssa Rodemsky scored the first goal of the game but it wasn't enough as the SCAD women's soccer team fell to Georgia Gwinnett 2-1 in overtime Sunday afternoon at Grizzly Soccer Complex. With the win the Grizzles improve to 2-0, while the Bees fall to 2-2-1.

SCAD struck first in 65th minute as Julia Mangione found Rodemsky off a corner kick. Rodemsky made one touch and sent the ball into the back corner of the net to give the Bees a 1-0 lead. Gwinnett responded in the 69th minute as Mary Vernetti scored a goal to tie the game 1-1. The Grizzles had a chance to win in regulation but the Bees defense held their position sending the game into overtime.

The two teams traded position in overtime until the 95th minute when Bristol Countess scored the game-winning goal for Gwinnett.

The Bees return to action Wednesday when they host St. Andrews at the SCAD Athletic Complex. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. Livestats will be available at http://www.sidearmstats.com/scad/wsoc.
