West Palm Beach, Florida – Laerke Michaelsen scored twice, while the Bees defensive held Keiser to one goal as the SCAD women's soccer team upset the third-ranked Seahawks 2-1 Friday afternoon. This is SCAD's first win over a school ranked in the top-five in recent years and moves the Bees into sole possession atop the Sun conference standings with a 5-0 conference record.

The Bees (8-3-2) struck first as Michaelsen intercepted a Seahawks pass made a couple dribbles and fired a shot into the back of the net to give SCAD a 1-0 lead five minutes into the contest. The two teams traded possession and shots throughout the first half but neither would convert giving SCAD a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Keiser (8-2-1; 4-1 TSC) came out firing in the second half outshooting the Bees 9-3. SCAD extended its lead to 2-0 in the 66th minute when a ball was played up to Meadhbh Deeney who then crossed it to Michaelsen for the goal. The Bees defense continued to play hard and contest every Seahawks shot to preserve the lead. Keiser's Linnea Lindmark scored in the 89th minute for the 2-1 final.

The quartet of Kayla Willis, Natalie Besl, Meghan Grable and Mackenzie Kastner limited the Seahawks to four shots on goal, while Sara Hall and Ande Eich combined to make three saves in the win.

This is the first time in program history that the Bees have started conference play 5-0.

SCAD return to action Sunday, October 11, when they host conference foe Johnson & Wales. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
