Box Score Babson Park, Florida – The SCAD women's soccer team netted two second half goals en route to a 3-2 win over Webber International Sunday afternoon at Warrior Field. With the win the Bees improve to 7-3-2 and 4-0 against The Sun Conference, while the Warriors fall to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Webber struck first as Megan Howard connected with Cierra Abundez for a goal to the Warriors a 1-0 lead 16 minutes into the first half. SCAD responded in the 37th minute as Michele Treinen found Alyssa Rodemsky for a goal to even the score 1-1.
The game remained tied until the 63rd minute when Janelle Morgan sent a cross to Treinen, who netted her first goal of the season and gave the Bees a 2-1 lead. Minutes later, Julia Mangione sent a corner kick into the box where Olivia Buechler headed it into the net to extend SCAD's lead to 3-1. Webber scored a goal in the 88th minute for the 3-2 final.
Treinen finished with a goal and an assist, while Rodemsky and Buechler each netted a goal.
Ande Eich played the entire second half and improved her record to 4-1-1. Eich and Sara Hall combined for four saves.
This is the first time since 2012 that the Bees started 4-0 in conference play. That year SCAD finished 10-8 and 6-2-1 in conference play and advanced to the semifinals of the Sun Conference Tournament.
SCAD return to action Friday, October 9, when they travel to West Palm Beach, Florida to take on conference rival and fourth-ranked Keiser. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
