Box Score

The Women's Soccer team improved its record to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play by defeating the Lions of Florida Memorial in Miramar, Florida. The Bees were totally dominant in the match as they outshot the Lions 51-1. The FMU goalie registered 17 saves on the 25 shots on goal. That left 8 shots that hit their mark.

Goals were divided among 5 Bees with Alexandra Weinberg scoring three (her first goals of the season). Laerke Michaelsen scoried 2 (her 7th and 8th goals this season). The remaining three goals were scored by Eliza Balen, Nikki Wittak, and Fiona Gorman. For Gorman this was her first score of the year.

There were four assists by four different Bees (Sofia Bonilla, Olivia Buechler, Meadhbh Deeney, and Wittak. It was certainly a team effort for SCAD. Sara Hall and Ciara Thomas split time at goalkeeping, but there was never a threat as Hall had the lone save on the 1 shot taken by FMU.

The ladies now have five days to prepare for what could be their biggest test of the season. On October 4th the Bees play host to #2 ranked Embry-Riddle (7-1-1) at the SCAD Sports Complex. It is Residence Life Night once again. Last week more than 180 fans came out to support the men's team. Let's see if we can beat that number when ERAU comes to Savannah. Game time is at 5 pm. A men's match against Warner University follows the women at 7 pm. Come out and support your Bees!!
