SCAD Women‘s Soccer Lose 3-1 to Auburn Montgomery

9/2/2012 7:44:00 PM

Box Score
SCAD's women were unable to pose any offensive threat to the Warhawks of Auburn Montgomery.  Coming off three previous matches where the Bees took a total of 65 shots (22-21-22) against their opponents, they could not penetrate the Warhawks defense.   The Bees took only 1 shot the first half.

UAM finally managed a score at the 35:56 mark in the first period to break the tie.   In spite of the lack of offense, the Bees were only down 1-0 at the end of the first half.  The Bees defense was a key in keeping the score close.  The Warhawks took 10 shots all totaled, but could not take advantage of SCAD's lack of offensive penetration.

The second half offered no offensive improvement - by either team.  SCAD and UAM were each able to garner only three shots on goal.  No player for SCAD took more than one shot in the game.  SCAD's final shot total for the game was six with six different players taking one shot each.  It was a tough loss for the Bees as UAB was able to score two more times before SCAD's Natalie Besl was able to score a long-distant shot on a free kick with 1:45 left in the game.  The final score was 3-1 UAM.

SCAD takes a 1-3 overall record to Alabama on 9/6 where they face the University of Mobile.  The Bees have three more road matches before returning home.  One of the road matches is a conference dual with USCB on 9/19.  The Bees return home to face Georgia Gwinnett at 7 p.m. on 9/21.
