HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Six different players scored as the SCAD Savannah women's soccer team recorded a 6-0 The Sun Conference victory over Ave Maria University Thursday (Oct. 21) evening at the SCAD Athletics Complex. The match was stopped in the 70th minute due to an extended power outage in the area.
SCAD improved to 9-4-3 overall and to 4-2-2 in the conference while Ave Maria fell to 4-10-0 and 1-7-0. The Bees close out their regular season with a 6 p.m. conference match Saturday (Oct. 23) at the SCAD Athletics Complex.
The Bees, who have outshot their last two opponents 60-0, wasted little time as
Rachel Adams played a through ball that
Shelby Dieckamp converted in the fifth minute. SCAD, which had 17 of its 19 shots on frame against the Gyrenes, scored its next goal as
Nikki Wittak converted a
Lauren O'Malley corner kick.
The Bees broke open the match with four goals –
Meike Petri,
Michelle Kelley,
Kelsey Hizelberger and
Cydney Parkes - in a 10-minute span, include two within 24 seconds.

Sara Collins recorded her third shutout of the season for the Bees while Kate Neal tallied 10 saves between the pipes for the Gyrenes.
