HARDEEVILLE, S.C. -
Northwood (Fla.) University clinched a share of The Sun Conference women's soccer title with its 3-1 victory over the Savannah College of Art and Design Sunday (Nov. 1) afternoon at the SCAD Athletics Complex.

The 11th-ranked Seahawks finished the regular season at 12-4-0 overall and 8-1-0 in the conference to share the regular-season title with Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University. SCAD fell to 8-7-0 and 6-3-0. Even though Northwood shared the title, the Seahawks earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament by virtue of their win over the Eagles earlier this season. The Seahawks will host the Bees, who are the tournament's No. 4 seed, Saturday (Nov. 7) in a semifinal match in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Northwood took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute as Adi Jurman scored her 14th goal off a Sara Klaren free kicks. Katya Salguero added an insurance goal 14 minutes later for the Seahawks as she took advantage of a bad bounce to score off a pass from Johanna Andersson.

The Seahawks scored their final goal on a penalty kick by Lisa Ohberg - her 17th of the season - with less than four minutes remaining. SCAD got its goal when Katelyn LeRoux scored in front of the box with 2:12 remaining.
