AVE MARIA, Fla. - Melissa Feuerriegel had a hat trick as the Savannah College of Art and Design women's soccer team recorded a 5-0 The Sun Conference shutout over Ave Maria University Thursday (Oct. 22) afternoon at North Park.
The Bees, who have scored 14 unanswered goals, improved to 7-6-0 overall and to 5-2-0 in the conference while the Gyrenes fell to 3-9-2 and 1-8-0. SCAD returns to action Saturday (Oct. 24) with a 3 p.m. conference match against Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla.
Feuerriegel notched her third hat trick of the season and sixth of her career as she scored twice in the first half as the Bees took a 4-0 lead at the half.
Logann Rogers and
Gabriella Levandowski accounted for the other goals in the opening half.
Feuerriegel, who leads the team with 14 goals in 2009, scored her other goal in the second half.
