Bees Wrap Up NAIA National Championship With Two More Gold Medals

Women Finished in Second While the Men Finished in Third

ELKAHART, Ind.- SCAD Swimming & Diving concluded the NAIA National Championship with two more gold medals.

The women's team finished in second place with 527. The men's team finished in third with 377 points.

The first gold medal went to Levente Mozsarik in the 100 men's free. He recorded a time of 42.85.

Nikki Hahn nabbed her gold medal in the women's 200 breast stroke with her personal best time of 2:13.87.

The Bees had a stellar showing with a plethora of second place finished. Lena Gerl finished the women's 1650 in 17:07.46 for her personal best and a silver medal. Valle Gonzalez recorded her personal best of 49.79 for a second-place finish in the women's 100 free. Zoltan Tompos added yet another silver medal with a 43.60 time in the men's 100 free, good for his personal best. Both the men's and women's 400 relay teams earned a second-place finish. Gonzles, Gerl, Louise Jones and Jette Haedicke recorded a 3:23.01 time for the women. Mozsarik, Tompos, Caed Peterson and Jan Gastal notched a 2:54.84 time on the men's side.

Kimberley Burkett highlighted the third-place finishes with a score of 234.05 in the 1M women's diving. This is the first time in school history that someone has scored so high in the diving National Championship. Haedicke also brought home a bronze medal with a personal best finish of 1:59.56 in the women's 200 back stroke. Jones rounded out the bronze medals with a 2:19.84 time in the women's 200 breast stroke.

SCAD had a pair of fifth place finishes. Sky Marjama nabbed 5th place in the 1650 with a time of 17:39.83. Findlay Saunders notched his personal best in the 200 back stroke with a time of 1:46.63.

Elena Wlodarczyk nabbed a sixth place, personal best finish in the 200 back stroke with a time of 2:03.17.

Abel Eszenyi and Bo Kasten rounded out the finishes for the Bees. Eszenyi finished seventh in the 200 breast stroke with a time of 2:01.11. Kasten brought home a seventh-place finish in the 200 fly with a personal best time of 1:49.23.

This brings the swimming and diving season to a close.
