Bees Swimming & Diving Crown Yet Another National Champion in Day Three

ERKHART, Ind.- SCAD Swimming & Diving's Nikki Hahn highlights day three with a gold medal in the NAIA National Championship, Friday evening.

Hahn earned herself a national championship in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:01.84. She bested the runner up by more than two seconds and recorded her season best.

The Bess also brought home two silver medals. Valle Gonzales nabbed second place in the 100-fly, finishing at 54.51. The women's 400 medley relay team of, Hahn, Gonzales, Jette Haedicke, and Louise Jones were the runners up with a time of 3:44.30.

SCAD added a pair of bronze medals to the day. Zoltan Tompos finished third in the 200 men's free with his personal best of 1.35:38. Haedicke brough home third in the 100 women's back stroke with her personal best of 54.40.

Lena Gerl and Jones snagged fourth place finishes in the 200 women's free and the 100 women's breast, respectively. Gerl finished with a 1:51.53 time while Jones finished with a 1:04.07 time.

Abel Eszenyi and Elena Wlodarczyk earned fifth place finishes. Eszenyi did so in the men's 400 IM with a time of 3:55.16. Wlodarczyk did so in the 100 women's back stroke with a time of 56.47, her personal best.

Bo Kasten capped off the day for the Bees with a sixth-place finish in the 100 men's fly with a 48.06 time.

Heading into the final day of competition the Bees women sit at second place with 344 points while the men sit at fourth place with 238 points.  

SCAD will cap their trip the NAIA National Championship on Saturday, March 7. The men and women will compete in the 1650, 200 back stroke, 100 free stroke, 200 breast stroke and the 200 fly.
