Alumni Spotlight: Andrew Sparks

Alumni Spotlight: Andrew Sparks '23

2/20/2026 12:00:00 PM

Andrew Sparks was a member of the cycling team at SCAD. He graduated in 2023 with a MFA in Creative Business Leadership. We checked in on what he's been doing since his time at SCAD, and the impact that his experience on the cycling team had on his career!

What does life look like for you after graduation?

I've been employed at Snap-on in Kenosha, WI, where I interned while studying at SCAD. In 2025, I got married to my girlfriend of 7 years. Otherwise, I've continued my learning journey and have also continued to race bikes.

What is one of your proudest professional accomplishments?

I've worked extremely hard in my first two years and have subsequently been selected to join another team in the company, significantly raising my profile within the company.

What is a favorite memory or moment as a member of the cycling team?

I had so many unforgettable experiences traveling with the team and coaches. I remember the way our coaches treat you as an adult. If you get your work and training done, you can go about your day the way you'd like. Remember, if everyone puts in the minimum, there's no point even competing if that is what you choose to do.

What is your advice to the new members of the SCAD Bees community?

Enjoy your time at SCAD, say yes to social events and experience all the wonderful opportunities that SCAD offers because many of these may not reappear. Continue to put in the work, it will pay off. Don't forget to have fun along the way.

Quick Hits:
Favorite place to eat in Savannah? Shabaz Fish on Victory
Favorite off-campus location? Any of the many unique coffee shops in Savannah
Favorite non-SCAD athletics/class experience? Playing tennis with my roommate and the locals at the Forsyth tennis courts.
Favorite sport to watch? Rugby!
