PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The SCAD Savannah women's golf team battled through tough conditions at PGA National to secure a fifth-place finish at the 2025 Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Keiser University (Sept. 15–16). The Bees posted rounds of +33, +19, and +23 across the three rounds for a team total of +75, finishing just two strokes behind fourth-place SCAD Atlanta.
Junior Sharon Shan led the way for SCAD, finishing tied for first overall at +7. Shan's steady play included an eagle, eight birdies, and an impressive 4.58 scoring average on par 5s, the best mark in the entire field. Senior Yunyi Luo joined Shan inside the top 10, tying for seventh at +14. Luo's consistency showed with 36 total pars, the most of any player in the tournament.
The Bees received additional depth from Lucy Nimmo and Paula Barrio, who each tied for 51st at +29. Both golfers contributed stretches of steady par play that helped keep the team score competitive. Ahreumnuri Seo finished tied for 65th at +36, while Nicole Sahagun, competing individually, tied for 71st at +39.
The Seahawk Shootout featured some of the NAIA's strongest programs, with Keiser taking the team title at +45, followed by Marian (IN) at +60 and Dalton State at +62. SCAD Savannah's fifth-place finish against national contenders demonstrated that the Bees are capable of competing at a high level early in the fall season. Shan's podium finish and Luo's steadiness give the team momentum heading into their next tournament as they look to build on a strong start.
