KANSAS CITY, Mo. – SCAD Savannah's Director of Athletics, Amanda Haverstick, has been inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame as a coach.
Over the course of her distinguished career, Coach
Amanda Workman Haverstick has exemplified what it means to lead with integrity, build championship-caliber programs, and transform the lives of student-athletes both on and off the course. Before serving as athletics director at SCAD Savannah (Ga.), Coach Workman Haverstick dedicated 22 years to coaching their golf programs.
"It is a privilege to be included in this Hall of Fame Class," states AD Haverstick. "To be nominated by coaches that I think so highly of and respect is truly an honor. The golf community is a wonderful family and I am lucky to have coached alongside so many amazing people. Over my career I was fortunate to be surrounded by talented artist-athletes from all over the world who were inspiring. To each athlete that put their mark on our SCAD Golf Program- thank you. SCAD is a special place and the support I had to pursue the goals of our program was tremendous. I am forever grateful for that opportunity and have special memories that will last a lifetime."
Under her leadership, the SCAD Bees earned 19 consecutive NAIA Women's Golf National Championship berths, including a title victory in 2018, four National Championship Runner-Up finishes (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016), and third-place finishes in 2019 and 2022. Additionally, Coach Workman Haverstick's women's golfers accumulated two NAIA Individual National Champions, Alazne Urizar in 2014, and Maria Otero in 2018. The women's team boasted 38 NAIA All-American honors, 46 All-Conference selections, and 21 NAIA National Championship All-Tournament Team selections with Coach Workman Haverstick at the helm.
Under Coach Workman Haverstick's direction, the men's golf program achieved equally impressive accolades, including 17 NAIA All-Americans, 12 All-Sun Conference honors, and 26 GCAA All-America Scholar Athletes. In 2017, the men's team was the GCAA Academic National Champions.
For her remarkable leadership on the course, Coach Workman Haverstick was named NAIA Women's Coach of the Year in 2018. She was also the Sun Conference Coach of the Year four times.
Coach Workman Haverstick is an NAIA Women's Golf Past President, was an officer for five years, and served as a women's golf conference rater and on the women's golf national oversight committee for over 12 years.

"Her unwavering commitment to supporting and elevating student-athletes both on and off the course has consistently been a hallmark of her career, and her dedication serves as an exemplary model for what our conference and the NAIA should always aspire to be at our core."
The Hall of Fame Award is the highest honor presented by the NAIA. Nominees must be of outstanding quality, high moral character, and fine leadership ability, and must be held in high esteem by their colleagues, former coaches, and former athletes.
