INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The SCAD women's bowling team finished second in the field of 66 at the Tier 1 Hoosier Classic.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day tournament consisted of five individual games, followed by 15 baker games. Total pinfall determined seeding, with the top eight advancing to match play.
INDIVIDUAL GAMES: The Bees were in second place at the conclusion of the five individual games with a total pinfall of 5164. Calumet College of St. Joseph was in first with a total pinfall of 5276.
Yumi Yuzuriha earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team with a second-place finish and total pinfall of 1160 for an average of 232.
BAKER GAMES: SCAD remained in second after the first five baker games with a total pinfall of 6283. Calumet College remained in first with a total pinfall of 6418.
The Bees were in second place at the conclusion of 10 baker games with a total pinfall of 7291. Calumet College was in first with a total pinfall of 7429.
The final round of baker games saw SCAD move into first with a total pinfall of 8344. Calumet College finished the baker games in second with a total pinfall of 8332.
MATCH PLAY: The No. 1 SCAD team faced No. 8 Oklahoma Christian in the first round of match play, winning 2-1 to advance to the semifinals.
The No. 1 Bees defeated No. 4 Mount Mercy 2-1 to clinch a spot in the final.
No. 1 SCAD faced No. 6 Judson in the final and fell 3-2 in one of the most exciting finals in Hoosier history.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will return home to host the Southern States Athletic Conference Championship on Friday-Saturday, February 21-22.
