TAMPA, Fla. – SCAD's
Mario Goic and
Noa Sonntag have been named the Sun Conference Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week,
Levente Mozsarik and
Valle Gonzalez sweep Sun Conference Swimmers of the Week, while
Talia Sullivan was named the Sun Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending October 12.
Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Mario Goic | Graduate | Zadar, Croatia
Goic continues to be a force on the pitch, scoring in both games this week as the Bees went 2-0 to remain unbeaten in conference action. The graduate student currently leads the team in goals (9) and points (21), and is tied for first in assists (3).
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Noa Sonntag | Freshman | Freiburg, Germany
Sonntag picked up his fourth and fifth shutouts of the season this week as the Bees went 2-0 to remain undefeated in SUN action. Sonntag allowed no goals in either contest and tallied eight saves in the 1-0 win over New College of Florida.
SCAD will host Ave Maria on Wednesday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m.
Men's Swimmer of the Week
Levente Mozsarik | Freshman | Kerekegyhaza, Hungary
Mozsarik helped lead his team to two wins last week, defeating the reigning NAIA National Champion Keiser University 179-134 and Milligan University 202-111 in a home double dual meet on Thursday-Friday.
Women's Swimmer of the Week
Valle Gonzalez | Freshman | Logrono, Spain
Gonzalez had a standout first meet as a Bee, helping lead her team to two wins last week, defeating the reigning NAIA National Champion Keiser University 199-114 and Milligan University 218-91 in a home double dual meet on Thursday-Friday.
SCAD will travel to the Gamecock Invite on November 19-21.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Talia Sullivan | Graduate | Lustleigh, Devon, England
Sullivan led the Bees to a third-place finish at the USCB Sand Shark Invite on Saturday. The graduate student shattered the SCAD program record in the 5K with a time of 17:25, besting the previous record of 17:30 set in 2014 by a full five seconds to finish first individually.
The Bees return to action on Saturday, October 24, at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge.
