SAVANNAH, Ga. – The SCAD Savannah men's soccer team will open its 2024 season at home with a strong match up against Georgia Gwinnett College on August 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the SCAD Athletics Complex. 

The Bees are looking to improve on last season's 6-8-4 overall record, vying for a spot in the Sun Conference tournament and looking to make the NAIA National Championship for the first time in program history. 

Seventeen new players join the 2024 squad. The 12 freshmen and five transfers will bring a highly anticipated level of play to complement the returners who boasted the most wins in a season since pre-COVID times. Senior Goalkeeper Connor Friel returns as captain after totaling 80 saves and three shutouts last season. Sophomore Tim Rothe led the Bees with six assists and graduate Caio Lara scored two goals. 

The Grizzlies are also coming off of a 6-8-4 2023 season and return last year's top goal-scorer to go along with 18 new players, including 13 freshmen. 

Fans, come out to what is sure to be a competitive season opener as the SCAD Bees take on the Georgia Gwinnett College Grizzlies at home on Saturday!
