Fishing Has Big Day on Lake Seminole

2/14/2018 1:12:00 PM

QUICK HIT: The SCAD Savannah men's and women's fishing teams traveled to Bainbridge, Ga. for the FLW Yeti Southeastern Conference Event on Lake Seminole February 10.

HOW MANY BOATS? The Bees had four boats competing out of the 188-boat field.

TOP FINISHER: Gabriella Gonzalez and Laura Ann Foshee were SCAD's top finishing boat. The all-woman boat placed 24th with a five-fish limit 12 pounds, one ounce.

OTHER FINISHES: Reese Kingston and Cody Stahl placed 46th with a nine pound, 15 ounce hall.

DID YOU KNOW? Last season the Bees' top-finishing boat on Lake Seminole, at the same competition, finished in 54th out of 140.

CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER: Noah Pescitelli and Alain Soekhlal did not weigh any fish. However, there is a very good reason for this. Pescitelli and Soekhlal towed a boat, from Auburn University, that had broken down. In doing so, SCAD forfeited their fishing time and the team from Auburn qualified for nationals because they made weigh-ins.

WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to Lake Guntersville for another FLW Yeti Southeastern Conference Event on March 3.
