Freshmen Trio Lead to Win for Men’s Soccer

Box Score QUICK SCORE: Three freshmen scored five goals to give SCAD Savannah men's soccer team the 5-1 win over visiting Warner University Wednesday evening.
 
RECORDS: The Bees improve to 7-7 overall, 5-3 TSC while the Royals drop to 5-7-3, 4-3-1 TSC.
 
FIRST HALF TIE: The Royals scored the first goal of the game on a quick shot at the 21:43 mark.
 
Nearly ten minutes later Arthur Bello Veiga tied the game at one with an unassisted goal.
 
The score remained tied for the remainder of the first half.
 
SECOND HALF SHUTOUT: SCAD held Warner for the entirety of the second half while they scored four more goals to put the game out of reach of the visiting Royals.
 
Veiga scored his second goal just under four minutes into the second half to give the Bees the lead, a lead in which they did not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
 
Cian Lynch scored the third goal (3-1) of the game for the Bees off an assist from Tom Barry at the 65:29 mark. Ten minutes later, Lynch scored his second goal off of an assist from Juan Pablo de la Garza Evia to give SCAD a 4-1 lead.
 
Tom Barry – with an assist from Nassim El Bouthtouri – scored the last goal of the game in the 82nd minute to give the Bees the 5-1 win.
 
BOXSCORE: SCAD outshot Warner 17-9 with eight of those shots on goal.
 
Lynch led both teams in shots with six while Barry added three. Alejandro Rodriguez, Alfie Raw, and Veiga tallied two shots each with Ewald Bugase contributing one.
 
Goalie Joe Parker totaled three saves in his 86:34 minutes of work.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees will travel to St Thomas on Saturday, October 28 for their last regular season competition.
