Men’s Soccer Breaks Streak with Win

Box Score QUICK SCORE: The SCAD Savannah men's soccer team broke a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Webber International on Saturday.
 
RECORDS: The Bees are now 5-7, 3-3 TSC while the Warriors fall to 2-6-1, 0-5-1 TSC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: Tom Barry scored the first goal of the game at the 24:27 mark off a pass from Arthur Bello Veiga.
 
Webber tied the game three minutes into the second half but Garren Hayes gave the Bees the lead once again when a corner kick by Alejandro Rodriguez Gil landed in front of Hayes who scored off of a header at the 66:05 mark.
 
Veiga gave SCAD an insurance goal in the 68th minute when he scored on a penalty kick.
 
BOX SCORE: The Bees out-shot the Warriors 18-11 with six shots on goal.
 
Veiga led the game in shots with five while Barry tallied four and Willian Santana totaled three.
 
Rodriguez and Veiga added one assist each.
 
Goalies Joe Parker and Will Barnett split time in the cage and totaled three saves each.
 
WHAT'S NEXT? The Bees return home on October 21 to host Ave Maria at 12:30 p.m.
