Bees Score Late but Fall to 15th-Ranked Ashford

Clinton, Iowa - The 21st-ranked SCAD men's soccer team scored a late goal but it wasn't enough as the Bees fell 2-1 to 15th-ranked Ashford Sunday night at Ashford South Campus. With the win the Saints improve to 3-2, while the Bees fall to 3-3-1.

The Saints struck first as Tim Krautheim found Adam Wood for a goal 20 minutes into the first half. Both teams had strong defensives performances which kept the score 1-0 at the break.

Ashford extended its lead to 2-0 in the 75th minute as Wood converted a penalty kick. Minutes later, Jordan Trinci-Lyne scored off a penalty shot to cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 86th minute. SCAD had a chance to tie the game but couldn't convert for the 2-1 final.

The Bees return to action Friday when they face 23rd-ranked Auburn Montgomery at 3:00 p.m. at the SCAD Athletic Complex. Livestats will be available here.
