Second Half Surge Pushes Bees Past Buffalos

Milligan, Tennessee – The 21st-ranked SCAD men's soccer team netted four second half goals as the Bees defeat Milligan College 4-1 Friday night at Anglin Field. With the win the Bees improve to 1-1, while the Buffalos fall to 0-1.

"We played disciplined and possession soccer tonight which helped us get the win," said head coach Tom Melville. "Jordan Trinci-Lyne and Naim El-Harriti led by example in the middle of the park stringing strong passes together."

SCAD came out strong outshooting Milligan 8-3 in the first half. All three of Milligan shots were on goal but Fernando Zeledon made three saves to keep the game scoreless. Alex Jamroz took three shots on goal in the first 20 minutes of the game but was unable to convert them into goals. The game remained 0-0 at the break.

Five minutes into the second half Johan Renli netted an unassisted goal to give the Bees a 1-0 lead. 45 seconds later, Jamroz hit a shot off the post, but Trinci-Lyne was there for the rebound to extend SCAD led to 2-0. Ten minutes later, Torin Melville connected with Callum Etches, off a corner kick, for a goal to give the Bees a 3-0 lead. SCAD struck again in the 68th minute as Francesc Casas found Trinci-Lyne for his second goal of the game. Milligan netted a goal in the 87th minute for the 4-1 final.

Trinci-Lyne led the Bees with two goals, while Etches and Renli each netted one.

Zeledon made five saves and improved his record to 1-1.

SCAD returns to action tomorrow when they face Shawnee State at Milligan College at 1 p.m.
