Box Score Thomasville, Georgia – Jordan Trinci-Lyne scores twice as the SCAD men's soccer team upsets 16th-ranked Thomas in a rematch of last year's conference championship game Wednesday night at Remington Park. With the win the Bees improve to 7-8-2 and 3-5-1 against the Sun Conference, while the Night Hawks fall to 13-4 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
Both teams came out hard trading possession and shots to start the game but neither could convert. In the 17th minute Trinci-Lyne fired a shot the hit off the crossbar just missing giving the Bees a goal. The game remained scoreless until the 34th minute when Will Oswin sent a cross to Trinci-Lyne, in the box, who sent a well-placed shot to the lower-right hand corner of the net for the goal to give the SCAD the 1-0 advantage. Thomas responded minutes later as Patrick Ramdial found Lyle Gifford for the goal to even the score 1-1 heading into the break.
SCAD came out of the intermission strong controlling the ball majority of the second half and outshooting the Night Hawks 14-3. The game remained tied until the 78th minute when Trinci-Lyne sent a curveball shot to the lower right corner of the net for a goal to give the Bees a 2-1 lead. SCAD held off the Night Hawks attack for the 2-1 final.
This is the second time this season that the Bees have upset a ranked opponent. Earlier in the year SCAD upset fourth-ranked Grand View 1-0.
This marks Trinci-Lyne third multi-goal game and fifth game-winning goal of the season.
