Box Score Hardeeville, South Carolina – Jordan Trinci-Lyne netted his first career hat trick, while Alex Jamroz added a goal of his own to lead the SCAD men's soccer team to a 4-0 win over Ave Maria Saturday night at the SCAD Athletic Complex. With the win the Bees improve to 6-8-2 and 2-5-1 against The Sun Conference, while the Gyrenes fall to 1-10 overall and 0-6 in conference play.
The Bees started the game strong, controlling the ball majority of the first half. SCAD struck in the 23rd minute as Trinci-Lyne's shot connected with the top right corner of the goal to give the Bees a 1-0 lead. The Bees had a couple of chances to extend the lead but Andrea Salomone made three saves to keep the score 1-0 at the half.
SCAD extended its lead in the 58th minute as Alejandro Rodrigez Gil connected with Jamroz who made one touch and fired a shot for a goal to extend the lead to 2-0. Minutes later Naim El-Harriti sent a free kick into the box, the ball bounced off a few players before Trinci-Lyne netted his second goal of the game to give the Bees a 3-0 advantage. The Bees extended their lead in the 83rd minute as Liam Traynor sent a ball forward to Trinci-Lyne, who beat the defense and put a shot past the goalie for the 4-0 final.
With the three goals tonight, Trinci-Lyne tallied his 40th goal and 90th point of his career. Jamroz's goal was the 15th of his career.
Fernando Zeledon made one save and recorded his fourth shutout of the season.
The Bees will return to action Wednesday, October 28, when they travel to Thomasville, Georgia to face Thomas. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
