Bees Fall to Southeastern 3-1

Hardeeville, South Carolina – Tom Rouine headed in a goal with 12 seconds remaining in the first half, but it wasn't enough as the Bees fell to Southeastern 3-1 Thursday night at SCAD Athletic Complex. With the win the Fire improve to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the Sun Conference, while the Bees fall to 5-8-2 and 1-5-1 in conference play.

Southeastern struck first in the 25th minute as Jonathan Jimenez connected with Camilo Mejia for the first goal of the game. Nine minutes later Corey Mills found Jimenez in front of the net for a goal to extend the Fires lead to 2-0. SCAD answered right before the half as Torin Melville sent a cross into the box to Rouine who headed it in to cut the deficit to 2-1 at the break.

Less than a minute into the second half Gerritson Craane netted an unassisted goal to extend Southeastern lead to 3-1. The Fire controlled the ball for majority of the second half for the 3-1 final.

Fernando Zeledon made three saves in the net for the Bees.

SCAD will wrap up its home schedule Saturday night when they host Ave Maria at 7 p.m. at the SCAD Athletic Complex. The Bees will honor their three seniors prior to the game.
