Trinci-Lyne Strikes Again with a Singular Goal

10/3/2014 10:29:00 AM

Box Score

Jordan Trinci-Lyne (undeclared) struck the pay dirt needed to give the SCAD Men's Soccer team its second victory in the Sun Conference.

Trinci-Lyne's goal was the only goal scored in the Thursday evening game, resulting in a final score of 1-0 as SCAD triumphed over the Warner University Warriors. Victory looked familiar, coming off another 1-0 win over Ave Maria University last Saturday. It was also Trinci-Lyne that provided that winning goal.

Teammate Seth Fite (undeclared) assisted Trinci-Lyne 20 minutes into the second period to provide the Bees with the winning score. Our record now stands at 2-0-1 in conference play and 3-2-1 overall.

All of the four shots on goal by the Warriors took place in the second period. That's when SCAD goalie Fernando Zeledon (undeclared) rose to the occasion. Those four shots added four saves to Zeledon's record and preserved the SCAD victory. Since becoming the regular goalkeeper for the Bees, Zeledon has recorded two shutout victories in his three starts and has given up only one goal.

SCAD also outshot Warner 15 to six. The Bees had six corner shots compared to one for the Warriors.

Next up for the Bees is a home match on Saturday, Sept. 4, against another conference school: Weber International University. The game starts at 7 p.m.

Come out and support your Bees. Shuttle service is available from the Hive beginning at 6 p.m. to bring students to the conference match at the SCAD Athletics Complex. Free pizza will be given away to all who attend.

The complex is located at 3650 Speedway Blvd., Hardeeville, South Carolina.
