Box Score

As a crowd of 684 SCAD fans cheered on the Men's Soccer team, the Bees knew they didn't want to disappoint. The first place team continued their winning ways by handing the Seahawks of Northwood University their first conference loss of the season with a shutout score of 3-0.

It was an all-around great day for both the offense and defense of Coach Tom Melville's team. Leading the way defensively was superstar goalie Fernando Zeledon, who has been very stingy in his allowing only two goals in his seven games since becoming the starting goalie for SCAD. The shutout was Zeledon's fifth of the season, but he was not a lone ranger on the defensive end. The Bees, as a team, only allowed the Seahawks three shots on goal the entire game, while SCAD took 11 in comparison.

The first and winning goal of the game was produced just three minutes into the contest when Gonzalo Gelso scored on an assist by Jordan Trinci-Lyne. This was Gelso's first goal of the season. Even though the Warriors did not score in the match, the game was a close one until halfway through the final period when the Bees score two more goals to put the game out of reach. Jake Prescott scored at the 74:17 mark and Will Oswin scored his first goal of the season by an assist by Prescott at the 76:04 mark.

Since losing the first two games of the season, the men have gone undefeated at 7-0-2 and have looked every bit of being a conference contender. They are the only undefeated team in the Sun Conference.
