Men's Soccer Gets Second Win Against Bellevue College

8/25/2013 10:39:00 PM

Box Score

Once again the defense performed at a high level for the SCAD Bees. Allowing only one goal the defense allowed only 7 shots the whole match. The problem was that the one Bruins' goal was the only goal scored in the first half so they had a 1-0 lead going into the break.

The Bees came out in the second half with a vengeance. After taking only 8 shots in the first half they almost doubled their shots by taking 14 of them in the second. The Bees had a total of 12 shots on goal, so it was not from a lack of effort that they had failed to score. The Hastings' goalie accumulated a total of 10 saves.

But it was in the space of five minutes that the Bees finally tied the game and then pushed ahead when they scored two goals. The tying goal was made by Jordan Trinci-Lyne on and assist by Alex Jamroz 10 minutes into the second half. About 5 minutes later Will Oswin got a feed from John McAleenan and scored what proved to be the winning goal. The defense held off any offensive threat and the Bruins were unable to score in the second period.

The victory, the second one on the road trip, brought the Bees to a 2-0 record for the season. The men hope to keep this going when they take on Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Ga. on 9/4. Game time is 6 pm.
