Box Score
The SCAD Men's Soccer Team ends the 2013 regular season with a double-overtime loss to the Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies 0-1. The loss brings SCAD's regular season record to 8-6.
The statistics were considerably in favor of the 13-4 Gwinnett team. They outshot the Bees 12-4 and had a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Bees could not mount any offensive threat as they took 3 of their four shots in the 1st period, but were only allowed 1 shot (one on goal) in the 2nd period. No shots by SCAD were allowed by the Grizzlies in either overtime.
Ali Bassir had three saves, while
Josh Brown had two.
The SCAD defense once again made the game a very close one, but a minute and fifteen seconds into the 2nd overtime the Grizzlies managed to place a winning score past Brown.
It was a tough loss for the Bees, who will now shift gears and begin preparation for the beginning of The Sun Conference Tournament. Being a #4 seed in the tournament SCAD will host the first round match against #5 seed Northwood University. The game takes place on November 9 at 7 pm. Let's go Bees!
