Box Score
The men traveled to Thomasville, Georgia to play their last conference match against Thomas University, one of two undefeated conference teams, along with Embry-Riddle . Strange as it may sound, the Night Hawks at 7-0-2 were in second place because of two ties in the conference. The Bees were hoping to improve their conference record to 6-4 which would move them into sole possession of fourth place in the conference.
Jose Izurietta gave the Bees an early lead as he scored three minutes into the match. It looked like that would be the score at half, but with three minutes left the Night Hawks got a score of their own to tie the game at 1-1.
SCAD had been playing tough defense all season so the men needed to continue their defensive play if they were to move up in the standings. And so they did. The Night Hawks were unable to score another goal. The Bees, on the other hand, were able to get their second goal six minutes into the second half.
Jordan Trinci-Lyne scored his team leading 10th goal of the season to give the Bees a 2-1 lead. Because of the defense Thomas could not overcome the 1 goal SCAD lead.
The 2-1 win moved the Bees into fourth place in The Sun Conference final standings. Way to go Bees!!!
SCAD has one remaining nonconference match against Georgia Gwinnett College. The men travel to Lawrenceville, Georgia, November 2 where they hope to keep the momentum going as they look forward to The Sun Conference tournament.
The conference rounds will begin November 9. The men have secured a #4 seed for the TSC Tournament and will play Northwood University (#5 seed) at the SCAD Sports Complex. Kickoff will begin at 7 p.m.
