Box Score
The men finally put together a match that they have been looking since beating Ave Maria 4-0 on Sept. 8. They had been playing solid defense, limiting their opponents to just a total of 6 goals in 4 matches, but managed to score only 2 goals themselves in those 4 matches. This afternoon in West Palm Beach, Florida, the Bees played a total game against the 3rd place Northwood Seahawks.
The first half was much of the same, good defense, but no offense. But that was the first half. The second half was a breath of fresh air. Thanks to
Jordan Trinci-Lyne the Bees jumped out to a 1-0 lead when he scored on a
Naim El-Harrati assist at the 7th minute mark of the second half. There was no looking back. The defense showed no lapse in its tenacity as they held the Seahawks to just one shot on goal and just 7 shots total for the whole match.
With the defense dug in, Trinci-Lyne scored his second goal on a penalty kick 18 minutes later. That was all the Bees needed to even up their conference record to 3-3. SCAD has 4 games remaining in their regular season. Three of those four matches are against conference teams. There is still time for a run, but most importantly, for a higher seeding in the conference tournament that begins November 9.
Next up for the Bees will be Johnson & Wales University. SCAD finally returns to the confines of the SCAD Sports Complex after playing four straight road games. Kickoff is at 12 pm Sunday, October 20. Come out and support your Bees!!
